Design at AXON from one team
EDL takes responsibility for design at AXON as one team inside your organisation. Innovation in Copenhagen moves faster. The design system grows in parallel.
Three tracks, one lead
Three tracks, run as one team. Innovation in Copenhagen is Tomas’ track and moves first. The design system grows in parallel. Product design continues as today. Each track has a lead from EDL.
Innovation, Copenhagen
Prototypes in code on real data, within days of the idea. A kit so you, Vito and others at AXON build on brand without waiting for us.
- Lead
- Frederick leads, with the team
- An idea becomes something you can click within days, not weeks
- Real data from the start, so a prototype can go in front of a customer when you decide
- You, Vito and others at AXON build on brand without waiting for us
- EDL in the room when a feature is conceived, so it reaches production the way Neura did: 3.4x faster
- Cortex next, from idea to product the way Neura went
Design system
Adoption, governance and new components with Alejandro and Tony’s team, starting with the surfaces a key customer complains about.
- Lead
- Modestas leads, with Alessandro
- The design system reaches more of the product every quarter, where customers feel it
- Fewer complaints from a key customer, as the screens they use most are fixed first
- EDL carries the rollout, so Alejandro and Tony’s team stay on backend and features
- Design and code stay one system, so what is designed is what ships
- An agreed review turnaround in Vietnam, so finished work ships instead of waiting
- One or two visits to Vietnam a year, so the work lands with the team
Product design
Jira tickets, prototypes, new design in Figma. UX research close to the customer’s support agents.
- Lead
- Stephanie leads, with Filippa
- The product keeps moving: tickets, prototypes and new design, as today
- Design decided next to the people who use the product, starting with a key customer’s support agents in Berlin
- A return you can see each quarter, the first one: support tickets resolved faster
- Daily contact with the rest of AXON, so no one waits on a design answer
- A design process that matures with AXON, agentic first: agents do the routine work, designers decide
Phase 1, January to April
Of the 250,000 a month
Phase 1 runs 1 January to 30 April and ends in a retro. There we adjust tracks, people and price to what moved the goals, and set phase 2 from May.
- 01Take responsibility for design at AXON.
Frederick is your point of contact and runs the EDL team on your behalf.
- 02Work from inside AXON.
We join your meetings, and work from your office when it makes sense, two half days a week to start.
- 03Improve the existing workflows.
Frontends land as pull requests, reviewed in Vietnam. Vietnam stays on backend and features.
- 04Set you up to produce prototypes.
Components, docs and context for AI tools, so you, Vito and others at AXON can build on brand.
- 05Set quarterly goals
with the right people across AXON, so the return is visible. First: support tickets resolved faster.
- 06Drive adoption of the design system
with Alejandro and Tony. Alessandro joins to speed it up. CSA broadband first.
- 07Visit Vietnam
to understand the team and make sure frontend work lands well.
- 08Move UX work closer to the end users.
We go to Berlin and shadow a key customer’s support agents, report back, and suggest changes for Neura and the system as a whole.
- 09Fix accessibility and responsiveness.
The issues a key customer raises, removed surface by surface.
- 10Retro in April.
We adjust tracks, people and price to what moved the goals, and set phase 2 from May.
Timeline
We talk in November. Phase 1 runs January to April and ends in a retro. Phase 2 is set there, from May.
From here to 1 January
We talk again in a few weeks and settle the scope. If the shape is right, EDL starts on 1 January.
